Microsoft to buy Aquantive

According to the article, "Microsoft will acquire ad company aquantive", Microsoft is planning to buy Aquantive in order to keep up with rivals yahoo and google on the online advertisment game. Microsoft believes this move will greatly enhance their online advertising platform and help them take a competitive advantage against some of their rivals. Microsoft knows, however, that they cannot compete with Google's dominating acquistion of Doubleclick.

Microsoft is to pay $66.50 per share for the buy out, around $6 billion in total and about 85% more than aQuantive's closing price yesturday.
